I Grand Game Awards hanno confermato che Shawn Layden ricoprirà il ruolo di Godfather per la quarta edizione dell’evento, prevista per il prossimo 17 dicembre. La manifestazione, nata in Algeria per celebrare la creatività e la crescita dell’industria videoludica su scala internazionale, si svolgerà quest’anno sotto il tema ufficiale “Dreaming and Aiming Always Higher”.
Il ruolo di Godfather ai Grand Game Awards
Il titolo di Godfather è un riconoscimento onorifico assegnato a personalità che si sono distinte nell’industria videoludica. Con questa nomina, Layden si aggiunge alle figure che hanno ricevuto il riconoscimento nelle precedenti edizioni. Sarà lui, in qualità di Godfather, ad aprire la cerimonia con un discorso rivolto a sviluppatori, publisher e appassionati.
In oltre trent’anni di attività in Sony, a partire dal 1987, Shawn Layden ha ricoperto diversi incarichi di rilievo, tra cui la presidenza di Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, quella di Sony Interactive Entertainment America e la guida dei SIE Worldwide Studios. Terminata la sua esperienza in Sony nel 2019, nel 2022 è diventato consulente strategico di Tencent Games.
La cerimonia dei Grand Game Awards 2026 è in programma il 17 dicembre 2026.
